Another One?

Well, yesterday I had a checkup on my knee. Apparently there is some tissue growing over my patella. It is causing my knee to pop with every step, and it is kinda painful. So the doctor gave me a cortisone shot (which hurt like...you know!) and said he wanted to see me in another three weeks. We will know by then if the shot got rid of the enflamation or if we need to do another surgery. If I need another surgery the doctor will put the I.V. in and give me something to make me loopy, then they will anesthetize my knee. Then they will put all of the mini equipment in and a camera and take a look around. I will be awake for the whole thing because they will need me to move my knee around so they can make sure they get everything out. I just told the doctor that he just needs to make sure that I am in no pain and completely out of it otherwise he may have a small riot on his hands! So we will see how things go!

Ode to Casey

Last Friday Casey was bit by a spider and he died. I am so sad and heartbroken. I got Casey after Leavi died, so when Casey died it was like it all happened all over again. He was such a sweet and fun little doggie and I loved him so much. I miss him like crazy! This is the most recent picture that I have of Casey and it was taken a few months ago. Poor thing was in desperate need of a haircut, but I still think he is as cute as ever! So here is my ode to Casey: Thank you for being such a good friend and comfort to me when I needed you most. I'm sorry if I wasn't the greatest friend to you when you needed me. I love you and you will always be in my heart. Thank you for the fun times!
Because I was so upset after I found Casey Devin spent the better part of the weekend looking online for another Yorkie. He was going to suprise me. Sunday afternoon after Church Devin told me to hurry and change my clothes because he had found another St. Bernard that he was going to get. He had set an appointment to go and pick it up. As much as I love Chuck, I just couldn't bring myself to be very excited because a St. Bernard just isn't even close to Casey. I changed my clothes and we left. A few minutes later we pulled up in front of a house with a 6 foot fence in the back so I just assumed that the dog was back there. Devin said "I know you're not very excited about this dog, so you don't have to go in if you don't want to." I said that I would go in and see the dog because it was going to become a part of our family. So we wlaked into the house and the lady said that "They are in the kitchen." I was thinking that was weird to have a bunch of St. Bernards in the kitchen becasue they are so big. We walked into the kitchen and there on the floor was four little yorkie puppies! I just turned to Devin and hugged him and started bawling. The lady said "Oh, you didn't know... this was a suprise." I was just beside myself with joy and suprise. There was one little male left from the litter that hadn't been spoken for, so I get him. He is the biggest of the litter and so snuggly. I haven't decided what to name him yet, only that it has to be five letters to fit in with the rest of the family.
Oh yeah, and we also have inherited a kitten. Someone left him on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't have the heart to turn him away. Poor Devin is allergic to cats, so he has been such a trooper! Corey is insistent that the cat's name is Black (even though he is a little fluffy gray cat!). We have food and a litter box for him and he has done great with the litter box. There has only been 2 messes, and that was before I got the litter box set up. He is a fun little guy.

Oh Crap!

So we have finished the living room in our basement, but the builder wired it for a suround sound system so that we can put one in if we so choose. Anyway, there are wires poking out of the little holes so that we can wire the speakers to them. The other night Devin, Corey and I were sitting on the couch watching a movie. Corey looked straight up and said "Oh crap, Mama!" I giggled out of hilarity and suprise and said "What did you say?" And Corey says "Oh crap mom!" So I asked him what was oh crap. He pointed up to the roof and said "Des a ho in da woof!" So he was pretty upset thinking that there should not have been a hole in the roof! I just alaughed and though to myself that I would have to remember that so that I could blog it. He is such a funny kid.
The other day I was outside watering the garden. Corey was in his jammies and didn't have shoes on, so he sat on the back steps so that he could still be outside with me. I told him to stay there so that Chuck's chain didn't make him fall, so he said "okay!" I had almost finished watereing and I had my back turned away from Corey. All of a sudden I heard this horrified squeal. I turned to see Corey running from Chuck, who was so excited that he had a little friend to play with, so he was chasing Corey. Corey got to me and climbed up my legs and said "No no Chuck! No get me!" I love that boy!

Jeep, House, Grass, Garden

Well We have been extra busy over the last month since we moved intou the house. We put sod in the front yard, so we have to make sure it gets plenty of water. We actually got the sod for free. There is road constuction in Pocatello, so all of the grass that was there was dug up and put inot a huge pile. We made several trips over there and pieced it together like a puzzle in the front yard. It has been in about 2 weeks and is starting to green up a lot, mostly in patches, but it's better than it was.
We have also been working on the Jeep a lot too. We took the front fenders off and are in the process of taking off the axels so that we can put stronger ones on. After that we are going to put on the 37 inch tires and do a lift. Then we will make fender flares for the front and attach rock crushers on the back and sides. Then we will probably do a new paint job when everything is done. It is turning out to be quite the fun project.
Devin also bought an F350 diesel. It needs a new motor and transmission, but it still runs really strong and pulls just about anything. We are going to put new seats in and replace the lights on the roof. It is a fun project too.
We have also gotten our garden ready to plant. I found vegetable seeds at the dollar store, 6 packets for $1! I was pretty excited about that. I will be planting the seeds in the next day or two and I have high hopes of growing lots of veggies. mmmmm! Thanks Dad for teaching me how to garden when I was a kid!
I think that is most of our lives right now. Corey is doing good and liking his new daycare (despite being kicked in the head his first week!). Devin is doing good with school and work. Yeah, we're just busy busy!
