Merry Christmas ya filthy animal...and a happy new year!

Just a quote from my most favorite Christmas movie, Home Alone 2 :) I just wanted to tell all two of you who read my blog that I hope you have a great Christmas and a wonderful new year! This year I am finding joy in the little things...a morning slimey kiss from Corey, a fun husband who keeps me laughing, a midget dog who loves me and a giant puppy who drives me crazy, and good friends who stick around even when I am not so pleasent to be around. Thank you all for a better year than last year. Merry Christmas!

Weindeer!

I must say that I have one of the funniest three year old's in the world!

I was driving home from work the other day. I pick Corey up on the way home. As we were driving home we passed some fields. I saw some deer run across the street in front of me and stop in the field to eat. I pulled over and let Corey look at the deer. Of course he thought they were reindeer. He starts saying "Mommy, look des a weindeer! A weindeer eating he food! Look Momma!" We watched for a few more minutes and started to drive again. A few minutes later I see more deer crossing in front of us, so I pulled over to look. These deer started bounding away from the truck. Corey is exstatic! He started yelling "Look Momma, a weindeer hop like a bunny! He hop like bunny!" He loved it!

Then last weekend we were at the Verizon store. Corey dunked Devin's new phone (3 weeks old!) into a big glass of water, so of course it broke! So we went to the store to get a new one. There was a really tall guy wearing a green ninja turtle beanie. Corey loved it! He said "Look momma, a green disoar! He a green disoar!" Of course being three, nothing that comes out of his mouth is quiet. The guy looked over and laughed at Corey for calling him a green dinosaur. A few minutes later A lady walked in wearing a leopard print coat. And here comes Corey! "Look momma, a tiger! See a tiger momma?!" Then he is so excited to see the "tiger" that he starts running over to the lady and said "Momma, I touch a tiger!" I caught him just in time and had to explain that the "tiger" was the lady's coat. He seemed a little confused because he said "A tiger es he coat?...Oh." I nearly died laughing and so did everyone in the vicinity! I love it!!

I'm Alive!

So I haven't used the crutches at all, but I am getting pretty good at hobbling around. I got the stitches out yesterday and the Dr. drained it and actually got out a lot of fluid, which is great.

Yesterday I took Corey to the doctor because he has had a cold for maybe a week and it hasn't been going away. The doctor said that he has an ear infection and tonsillitis. Poor kid, he starts coughing so hard that it makes him throw up. I feel really bad when he is sick. He gets to spend the day with me today to make sure that he gets some rest and that he gets his antibiotics. Other than the coughing he seems like he is feeling pretty good. He tries to run and play, but I try to keep him reigned in. Funny boy!

Tomorrow...

So today is my last day of work before the surgery tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital by 6:30 in the morning and the surgery is supposed to start at 8:00. I know I have done this once before, so I know what to expect, so I shouldn't be as nervous as I am...but I am freaking out!!! I have had so much stress with work and school and home and everything else that it has all just built up and I feel like I am going crazy! I have homeowrk that I have to do today and I can't concentrate on anythig right now. Last night it was the same thing. I was so jittery that I didn't cook dinner, I buzzed around the house and got stuff done. It took me all of about 10 minutes to do the dishes, which is normally about a 30 minute ordeal. I swept and mopped the floor, I cleaned up Corey's mandarine orange mess all over the table, floors, walls and chairs (little terd!). Corey got a bath and was ready for bed by 7:00. All of this would usually take me a couple of hours, but last night I was done in about 45 minutes. Just to give you an idea of how jittery and nervous I am. I feel like everyday I have to talk myself down or else I'll explode! I keep reminding myself that after tomorrow I will be off of work for a whole month, so that is one huge stressor that I don't need to worry about for at least a month. I am going to focus on getting better so that I don't have to have another surgery on this stupid knee. Sorry, I'm venting. I will keep everyone updated on the progress. Thanks for listening!

Heart Attack!

Last night Corey was sitting at the table eating his dinner. No big deal, he does great eating by himself. I walked into the other room for a minute. When I walked into the kitchen I really didn't pay him a whole lot of attention until I heard this little mischevious laugh. So I turned to check on him. The stinker is standing on the table and holding on to the chandelier and just spinning it in circles! I nearly had a heart atack! I told him to get off of the table and he just laughed as he climed down, he knew he had been caught. The funniest part is that Devin and I have been noticing for about a week that the lights have been crooked and so Devin would straighten them. We were trying to figure out why the lights kept tilting, but now we know!

Knee Surgery

I will need to have another knee surgery, yipee!! It is scheduled for September 24th, a Friday. I will take at least three weeks off of work so that I can get better. I have to have a doctor's note to return to work part time and then another to return full time. I am really hoping that Devin can take some time off of work with me this time so that I have some company in my misery, they say that misery loves company right? I will need to be awake for this surgery because the doctor needs me to move my knee around so that he can be sure he gets everything out. I would prefer to be out, but at least I won't be able to feel anything (so he says!). But at least it will be feeling better by the end of the year, so that's a great thing. So now that I have given myself the pep talk, I am stoked and ready to go, bring it on!
